Minas Gerais should take the lead in the segment of centralized photovoltaic energy generation. This is because in Jaíba, in the north of the state, the implementation of a solar energy plant was announced, which will have a total installed capacity of 1.357 MW, thus becoming the largest photovoltaic project in Brazil.
The plant begins construction in the second half of 2020 and involves an investment worth R$6 billion, made by the company Aurora Energia.
According to ABSOLAR (Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy), with a capacity of 755 MW installed and under construction, the state of Minas Gerais is the fourth largest generator in the country, behind only Piauí, Ceará and Bahia.
In distributed generation, installed in homes, condominiums, industries, commerce, rural properties and public buildings, MG is already the leader, with a power of 512 MW. This corresponds to 19% of all photovoltaic energy of this type in Brazil.
Southern Brazil receives largest rooftop solar plant
Investing in sustainable expansion, Intelbras, a Brazilian industry that develops technological solutions, opened its new branch in São José (RS), the city where the company's headquarters are also located. The highlight of the work is the construction of a photovoltaic plant installed on the roof of the pavilion, with an estimated electrical generation of 1.739 MW/h for this year.
The new factory has 46 m², twice the area of the head office, and has 8.238 m² of filter coverage and solar panels installed, making it, according to organizations such as CELESC (Centrais Elétricas de Santa Catarina) and ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency), the largest rooftop photovoltaic plant in the South of the country.
To get an idea of the energy generation carried out, the structure has the capacity to supply, for example, 725 popular homes with an average consumption of 200 kW/h/month per residence. In total, there are more than 4 thousand photovoltaic modules installed.
