A marijuana plantation with an integrated solar energy system was located and destroyed in a police operation carried out in the municipality of Brotas de Macaúbas (BA). The action was led by FICCO (Integrated Force to Combat Organized Crime), with support from the Military and Federal Police, on the morning of Tuesday (19).

According to authorities, the plantation was discovered through intelligence and had a complete irrigation structure and its own solar energy generation. Narcotics, according to initial information, would be used by criminals to supply illegal points of sale in Salvador (BA) and on the North Coast of the State.

In addition to the solar system, with more than ten photovoltaic modules, the police also dismantled the entire irrigation system set up on site. There is no information about the suspects who kept the plantation running and, for this reason, no one has been arrested to date.

According to the Secretary of Public Security, Marcelo Werner, the use of solar panels in the crime drew attention due to the sophistication of the structure set up by the criminals. "The fight against gangs continues steadily, with integrated actions by State and Federal Forces. Congratulations to the police," he said.
