The Chamber of Deputies has once again removed from the agenda the vote on Provisional Measure 1300/2025, which addresses the expansion of the TSEE (Social Electricity Tariff). The bill must be approved by September 17th to remain in effect.

This is the second time this week that the vote has been postponed. The proposal was included on Tuesday's agenda (10), but was also not considered. The rapporteur, Congressman Fernando Coelho Filho (União-PE), continues to negotiate adjustments to the text, which still faces resistance on some points.

According to deputy Lafayette de Andrada (Republicanos-MG), the suspension of the analysis was motivated by the lack of consensus.

"There is no agreement on the text yet, there are still emerging points, and so the rapporteur and the presiding board found it more convenient not to vote on the text. Therefore, it is suspended. The session president just announced that Provisional Measure 1300 will not be voted on today. Therefore, it will be postponed until next week," he said in a video to Canal Solar had access.

The measure has already been approved by a joint committee, but still awaits review by the full House and Senate. The government estimates that one of the points included in Provisional Measure 1300, the expansion of the TSEE, could benefit up to 17,1 million families with free electricity bills.

In addition to the social benefit, MP 1.300 includes sections of a structural reform in the electricity sector, such as the opening of the free energy market to residential consumers and changes to the CDE (Energy Development Account).

If part of the content needs to be removed, the excerpts may be incorporated into MP 1.304, which deals with the CDE ceiling and is also being processed in Congress.
