The distributed generation sector has gained new momentum with the temporary suspension of some technical requirements for mini-generation systems with power greater than 75 kW and up to 300 kW. The flexibility is provided for in document DIS-PTC-077 – Rev. 00, and will be valid until June 30, 2025.
The measure meets a demand from ABS (Bahia Solar Energy Association), APERENOVÁVEIS (Pernambuco Renewable Energy Association) and APER (Potiguar Renewable Energy Association of Rio Grande do Norte) — all members of ANER (National Association of Renewable Energy Representative Entities).
The associations had been defending flexibility with regulatory bodies for months, arguing that modern equipment already incorporates adequate protection systems and that additional requirements made medium-sized distributed generation more expensive and hindered the expansion.
In a statement, the associations stated that “the suspension of technical requirements, such as the use of specific fuses and coupling transformers, allows for simpler and more economical projects for systems between 75 kW and 300 kW. With fewer requirements, the analysis and approval process by the distributor tends to be more agile, which directly favors the expansion of distributed generation.”
The entities also highlighted that “systems with modern inverters, which already have integrated protections, can eliminate the need for additional external protections, reducing the complexity of projects. The measure increases the viability of medium-sized projects and benefits entrepreneurs and companies that operate in solar generation”.
Finally, they highlighted that “the temporary relaxation of the rules creates a more favorable and attractive regulatory environment for new investments during the period of reassessment of the rule. The decision demonstrates openness to dialogue with entities such as ABS, APERENOVÁVEIS and APER, and indicates a positive path for future regulations”.

Congratulations to the associations, especially ABS (Bahian Solar Energy Association) of which we are a member.
We also congratulate Neoenergia for opening this very important channel for the Solar Energy sector.
For MINEIROS, we have land in the South of Bahia, 70 km from the border with MG, next to the energy grid, with access approval for 75kW plants.

I could be wrong, but it smells like a game of interest here, because it's only valid until June, that is, some big company does projects that should be on hold, and then after it's finished, it goes back to how it was before? I don't know, that's strange.
Good news
Congratulations on the report Ericka. We are experiencing a huge energy transition in Brazil and many people still don't know about it.
I work with energy solutions projects and shared generation of solar energy credits. Discounts ranging from 8% to 20% and up to 90% in savings for our residential and business clients.
We are looking for partners to expand the project in Brazil.
