Nextracker has signed an agreement with Casa dos Ventos to provide solar tracking systems for four large-scale hybrid power plants — combining solar and wind energy — located in the municipalities of Morro do Chapéu and Várzea Nova (BA), and Rio Brilhante and Seriemas (MS).
The projects total 1,5 GW of installed capacity, distributed among the Babilônia Sul (117 MW), Babilônia Centro (226 MW), Seriemas (540 MW) and Rio Brilhante (680 MW) plants.
Three of them — Babilônia Sul, Babilônia Centro and Seriemas — will adopt the system NX Horizon-XTR, which reduces the need for earthmoving and optimizes construction costs.
All plants will also have the TrueCapture, a technology that uses sensors and artificial intelligence to continuously adjust the angle of the trackers, maximizing energy generation.
Recognized for its leadership in the wind energy sector, Casa dos Ventos seeks, with this agreement, to take a strategic step to expand its portfolio in the renewable energy sector, focusing on the integration of complementary sources and the optimized use of the electricity grid.
“Partnerships like this give us confidence in the long-term performance and reliability of our projects,” said Thiago Rezende, director of construction and operations at Casa dos Ventos.
With more than 130 GW shipped to more than 40 countries and a strong presence in Brazil, Nextracker highlights that the partnership reinforces its role as a strategic technology supplier for the advancement of solar and hybrid energy in the country — which, according to data from ABSOLAR (Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy), is expected to add 13,2 GW of new capacity in 2025.
“Securing a multi-project commitment like this reflects the growing importance of trusted partnerships when it comes to long-term performance and reliability in today’s solar industry,” said Alejo Lopez, Vice President of Latin America at Nextracker.
In addition to the environmental benefits, both companies highlight the socioeconomic impact of the projects, which are expected to generate jobs, increase tax revenue, develop local production chains, and strengthen Brazil's competitiveness in the global clean energy landscape.
