The ONS (National System Operator) updated the forecast for growth in energy load in the SIN (National Interconnected System) for September, which now points to an increase of 3,2% (79.679 MW average) – much higher than what was originally projected earlier this month: 0,3% (77.432 MW average).

The expectation is that there will be an expansion of 8,8% in the North (8.371 average MW), 5.1% in the South (13.280 average MW), 3% in the Northeast (13.034 average MW) and in the Southeast/Central-West of 1,8% (44.994 average MW).

Hydroelectric reservoirs are also expected to close September with levels below what was initially predicted.. The North (74,3%) and Northeast (50,3%) subsystems remain above 50% of energy storage capacity. For the Southeast/Central-West, the EAR estimated on the last day of the month is 46,9% and in the South it is 48,4%.

According to the ONS, the reduction in reservoir levels is expected behavior at this time of year. “The estimates for three regions are lower than the first revisions in September, with the exception of the South, which has a higher EAR projection than that previously presented,” highlights the bulletin released last Friday (13/09).

Initially, forecasts pointed to storage reaching 74,9% in the North, 51,4% in the Northeast, 49,3% in the South and 48% in the Southeast/Central-West.

The indications for ENA (Influent Natural Energy) remain below the MLT (Long-Term Average) in all subsystems. The South presents the highest percentage, which may reach ENA of 53% of the MLT on the last day of the month. Next comes the North, with 49% of the MLT and the Southeast/Central-West, with 48%. The Northeast should reach the lowest index, with 42% of the MLT.

The CMO (Marginal Operating Cost) is the same in all regions: R$ 341,76/MWh.
