Partnership in Brazil has already recycled more than three thousand tons of solar panels.

A Engie Brasil vem ampliando a reciclagem de painéis fotovoltaicos como parte de sua estratégia de sustentabilidade.

Em 2025, a companhia reciclou mais de 132 toneladas de módulos, resultado de uma parceria com uma startup brasileira especializada na recuperação completa desses equipamentos.

O processo permite o reaproveitamento de componentes de alto valor agregado, que são transformados em insumos para novos painéis ou direcionados a outros segmentos industriais.

Desde 2022, a empresa já reciclou mais de três mil toneladas de painéis, alcançando um índice de 99% de reaproveitamento e evitando o descarte em aterros industriais, aponta o Relatório de Sustentabilidade recém publicado pela companhia.

A iniciativa procura acompanhar a expansão da capacidade solar da companhia, que atualmente soma cerca de 2,6 GW distribuídos pelas regiões Nordeste, Sudeste e Sul do país.

Batteries

Além dos painéis, a Engie também adota práticas específicas para o tratamento de baterias utilizadas em suas operações. Os equipamentos estacionários empregados em rastreadores solares e geradores passam por processos de logística reversa ao fim de sua vida útil.

Nesse modelo, as baterias são devolvidas aos fabricantes, onde passam por etapas de separação e trituração, permitindo a reutilização dos materiais no próprio ciclo produtivo.

Em 2025, mais de 32 toneladas de baterias foram encaminhadas para reciclagem, garantindo a destinação ambientalmente adequada desses resíduos.

Como parte da estratégia de fomento ao setor, a companhia também lançou, no ano passado, o primeiro edital voltado a projetos de reciclagem e logística reversa, com apoio da Lei de Incentivo à Reciclagem (Lei nº 14.260/2021).

Entre as iniciativas apoiadas está o projeto “Incentive a Reciclagem”, que recebeu investimento de R$ 245 mil — o primeiro aporte do país nessa modalidade.

A proposta prevê a realização de cursos e a produção de 2 mil cartilhas sobre a legislação, com o objetivo de disseminar conhecimento e estimular o desenvolvimento de novos projetos no segmento.
