The FER (Parliamentary Front for Renewable Energy) was launched this Wednesday (17), chaired by federal deputy Danilo Forte (PSDB/CE). The initiative aims to increase the relevance of renewable sources and propose measures to boost them in the national market, through legislative proposals. To this end, issues related to wind, solar, hydroelectric and other energy sources intended to replace fossil fuels will be debated in the National Congress.
For Adalberto Maluf, director of Marketing, Sustainability and New Business at BYD and president of ABVE (Brazilian Electric Vehicle Association), the creation of the front was extremely important. “Brazil is capable of being one of the world's largest players in renewable sources and, with the creation of the front, we can remove some existing distortions in the sector, such as the absence of an industrial policy”, he highlighted.
“And we will also be able to clarify the positive electrical, energetic, social and economic attributes of solar distributed generation, which is the main growth trend in the world and also here in Brazil”, added Maluf.
“There is a conviction around the world that protecting the climate and reducing the generation of greenhouse gases involves the production of clean energy. The front is of interest to everyone, which is why it was born with parliamentarians from the left and right, people from the PCdoB to the PSL”, said deputy Forte to the Estadão.
André Pepitone, CEO of ANEEL, participated in the ceremony and highlighted that renewable energy is already a reality in Brazil and that in the coming years it should generate R$25 billion in new investments for the country, with the creation of 200 thousand direct and indirect jobs. “Renewable sources, such as wind and solar, contribute to reducing social inequality. They generate income and employment in regions of the country that have gone decades without major investments”.
Also participating in the event was Thiago Barral, president of EPE (Energy Research Company), who emphasized that both the National Energy Plan 2050, and the most recent edition of the Ten-Year Energy Expansion Plan 2030, place renewable sources as a central element of national strategy to guarantee energy security, with sustainability and competitive prices.
Also present were the Minister of Mines and Energy, Bento Albuquerque, the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, Tereza Cristina, and the Minister of the Environment, Ricardo Salles, as well as deputies such as Arnaldo Jardim and the president of the Mines and Energy Commission of the Chamber, deputy Edio Lopes, among other parliamentarians.
GD legal framework
PL 5829/19, which aims to create a legal framework for DG, has moved the entire electricity sector, mobilizing deputies, associations in the segment and civil society entities.

Also according to Lafayette, the changes made to its replacement text of the proposal aim to guarantee the continued growth of the sector in the country and should come into force 12 months after the publication of the Law.

The text also determines that consumers with an access request protocol within 12 months of the publication of the Law will have the right guaranteed until 2046. For Lafayette, this measure will bring more legal security to photovoltaic projects.
