O DEIC (State Department of Criminal Investigations) seized photovoltaic equipment, evaluated in R $ million 7, and arrested a man for reception, this Tuesday (22), in an industrial warehouse located in Sorocaba (SP).

The action was led by the 2nd Police Station of Divecar (Division of Investigations into Theft, Theft and Receiving of Vehicles and Cargo), which managed to track and identify the location where the products were stored.

The warehouse was surrounded, resulting in the arrest of the person responsible for storing the materials. According to SSP (Secretariat of Public Security), the storage of generators was another stage in a scam that began last month.

Crimes in the solar sector have been increasingly frequent in 2022

The scammers, using the façade of an integrator company, signed a contract to purchase the equipment with a company in the state of Santa Catarina, for a total value of around R$7 million, with an advance of R$700.

“In light of this fact, the victim company released the products. However, payment did not occur on the scheduled date. The representatives looked for the buyer and only then discovered that this firm never purchased the generators. Since then, the scam has been confirmed”, they explained.

According to SSP, this amount of equipment would have the capacity to build a 5 MWp solar plant. The recovered material was transported in seven trucks and will be returned to the owner company. Investigations continue to identify those responsible for all phases of the coup.

Congratulations to the police, who recovered the stolen cargo in time. We need stricter laws for crimes in our country. Enough impunity for those who want to live a life of crime.

Well, we small, reputable companies only allow payment in cash and then go and separate the materials, this is a big deal because the small ones are worth little and what seems like everything is almost gone.
