President sends names to the Senate for the board of directors ANEEL

Sandoval de Araújo Feitosa Neto was appointed to occupy the position of General Director

President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) forwarded to the Federal Senate the names of the professionals who should make up the board of directors of ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) from the second half of this year. The names indicated were published in the DOU (Official Gazette of the Union).

The candidate to occupy the position of General Director is the current director Sandoval de Araújo Feitosa Neto, whose term ends in May 2022. The engineer is considered to replace Andrew Pepitone, who is expected to end his term in August this year.

Pepitone has already served two terms as director and one as CEO, which prevents him from returning to the position. He is expected to step down before the end of his term to take up a directorship at Itaipu.

The presidency also forwarded to the Senate the reappointment of director Hélvio Guerra, in addition to the indication of new names:

  • Ricardo Lavorato Tili, to hold the position of director, in the vacancy resulting from the end of Sandoval de Araújo Feitosa Neto's term on May 24, 2022;
  • Fernando Luiz Mosna Ferreira Da Silva, to hold the position of director, in the vacancy resulting from the end of Efrain Pereira da Cruz's term on August 13, 2022;
  • Agnes Maria De Aragão da Costa, to hold the position of director, in the vacancy resulting from the end of Elisa Bastos Silva's term on December 2, 2022.

The nominees will be questioned by the senators. After approval, the nominations will be submitted to a vote in the Senate Plenary.
