In total, R$372 million in investments were announced for isolated systems in the North of Brazil, with a deadline for submitting projects until February 21, 2025.

The resources come from the Pro-Legal Amazon Fund and will be made available through the Energias da Amazônia program. With this initiative, the MME aims to improve services to isolated systems through interconnection solutions, insertion of renewable sources in thermal plants, energy efficiency or loss reduction.

Year begins with relief on electricity bills for 78 million Brazilians

The CGPAL will use as selection criteria the projects that bring the greatest benefit to the Fuel Consumption Account (CCC), that present solutions for the reduction of greenhouse gases, in addition to socioeconomic benefits. Part of the financing will be carried out with public-private investments.

According to the Public Call notice, the following institutions may submit proposals: Centrais Elétricas Brasileiras SA (Eletrobras); Distribution agents serving the Legal Amazon region; Electric power generators and Associations, research institutions and equipment suppliers operating in the energy sector.

Projects must be submitted using an electronic form, which will be available at program page on the MME website.
