A survey recently released by consultancy Brand Finance revealed that 11 of the 100 most valuable brands in Brazil in 2025 are linked to the energy sector — including oil, gas, mining, and electricity generation and distribution companies. Together, these companies have a combined brand value of almost US$11 billion, according to the study “Brazil 100 2025” — which considers indicators such as financial performance, future growth prospects, and consumer perception.

The total value of the country’s top 100 brands reached US$79,4 billion – representing a 22,7% increase over the previous year. According to Brand Finance, the increase reflects a combination of factors: changes in consumer behavior, advances in digital innovation and investments in infrastructure.

Banks remain on top

The banking sector maintained its hegemony, accounting for 37% of the total value of listed brands. The top five positions in the ranking continue to be occupied by financial institutions:

  • Itau (US$8,59 billion);
  • Banco do Brasil (US$5,21 billion);
  • Bradesco (US$4,70 billion);
  • Nubank (US$ 3,99 billion);
  • Federal Savings Bank (US$ 3,67 billion).

Highlights among energy brands

Another highlight this year is Vibra, which rose in the general ranking and appears in 27th place overall, with US$ 703 million, consolidating itself as the second most valuable brand in the sector in Brazil.

Among the energy distribution companies are brands such as Neoenergia, Equatorial, CPFL Energia, Cemig, Energisa and Copel, in addition to Eletrobras, which continues to be a national reference in the electricity generation and transmission segment.

Although they are not officially classified as companies in the energy sector by Brand Finance, it is also worth highlighting the presence of Vale and Gerdau in the ranking.

Both companies, despite belonging to the mining and steel sectors, have significant operations in the area of self-generation of renewable energy.

The same goes for Banco do Nordeste – a financial institution that plays a leading role in financing energy projects in all nine northeastern states. The full ranking can be accessed here link.
