Registration for the ONEE (National Energy Efficiency Olympiad) for students in the 8th and 9th year of elementary school. ONEE expects the participation of more than 200 thousand students and teachers from public and private schools in all states of Brazil.
The Olympics seeks to teach and encourage the rational and efficient use of electrical energy, raising awareness about sustainability so that students adopt practices in favor of more conscious energy consumption.
Dulce Cunha, technical analyst at Elektro reinforces, “each year we engage to reach many young people and adults about the responsibility of changing habits through sustainable education”.
Free training courses are offered to students and teachers with four modules: “Efficient Consumption of Electrical Energy”, “Energy Efficiency of Appliances”, “Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development” and “Care in the Use of Electrical Energy”.
Divided into two phases, students participate in game-style challenges in the first and solve objective questions on the topic in the second phase of the Olympiad.
“Our young people are the ones who consume the most in this hyper-connected world, and to maintain it, we have to take care mainly of our day-to-day habits” – emphasizes Eduardo Mantovani, CEO of Energisa Minas Rio.
The winners of the 2024 National Energy Efficiency Olympiad will receive gold, silver and bronze medals. The best from each state will receive a notebook and will be invited to a special ceremony in Brasília, at the headquarters of the ANEEL, in November.
The initiative will be funded by PEE (Energy Efficiency Program) and has the support of ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency), ABRADEE (Brazilian Association of Electricity Distributors), and neoenergy Bahia, Rio Grande do Norte, Pernambuco, São Paulo and the Federal District.
