Public schools in Ceará received installations of dozens of solar panels and computers by the company lightsource bp, a company that develops solar energy projects, with the aim of promoting environmental sustainability.

The schools that received the installation were Maria Digivã Nascimento Ferreira and Padre José Leite Sampaio, located in the municipalities of Milagres and Abaiara, respectively.

“In addition to reducing energy consumption and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, the support will include a training course, in partnership with the SENAI Juazeiro do Norte technical school, in digital teaching and the use of new technologies in the classroom. class aimed at teachers, with a workload of 180 hours and certificates of completion”, stated the institution.

“This equipment is important for the entire community, as it improves working conditions for teachers and learning conditions for students,” highlights Adriana Martins, VP of Environment, Sustainability and Land at Lightsource bp.

In 2023, the company brought together city halls, outsourced companies, employees, local communities and parents of students to improve the infrastructure of three schools in Ceará.

“Repairs were carried out such as internal and external painting, replacement of tiles, placement of plaster coverings on the ceiling, electrical and hydraulic maintenance, renovation of tables and chairs with the reuse of recycled materials from the Milagres Solar Complex, which entered commercial operation in end of 2023”, stated the institution.
