Energy storage has gone from being just a promise to a concrete opportunity in the Brazilian electricity sector. Driven by the growth of renewable sources, the limitations of the electricity grid, the increasing demand for energy flexibility, and the reduction in battery costs, the battery storage systems (BESS) market is undergoing a transformation.

To discuss this scenario, episode 180 of Papo Solar will be broadcast live this Tuesday (9), at 18 pm, with the theme “BESS LRCAP – reducing LCOES” with TBEA.

Presented by Henrique Hein And Bruno Kikumoto, the program will feature the participation of Fábio Bortoletto, Project & Fulfillment Manager at TBEA, and Rodrigo Matsunaga, Sales Director at TBEA.

During the broadcast, the guests will discuss the main factors driving the energy storage market in Brazil, as well as analyze the signs indicating the sector's maturation.

The debate will also discuss the economic challenges of the projects, the mechanisms that can increase their competitiveness, and the criteria that make a storage system effectively viable and financially viable.

With the advancement of renewables and the growing need for flexibility in the electrical system, the discussion about energy storage has ceased to be a purely technological issue and has become increasingly economic.

In this context, the episode will show how initiatives such as LRCAP and the reduction of LCOES can contribute to accelerating the adoption of batteries in the Brazilian market.
