With the release of 31 plants for commercial operation, the Brazil achieved the second largest increase in installed capacity in November in the year: there were 1.030 MW, according to a survey by ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).
During the month, most of the installed power (39,3%) was added by thermoelectric plants, which added 404,8 MW to the SIN (National Interconnected System).
A photovoltaic solar source accounted for 30,5% (314,1 MW) and wind, by 26,3% (271 MW). Small hydroelectric plants totaled 40 MW (3,88%).
The expansion verified in 2022, until November 30, was 7.046,2 MW. This total makes up 93% of the 7.625,1 MW forecast by ANEEL for the year.
With the plants released last month, 21 states in the five Brazilian regions expanded their generation capacity this year. Maranhão joined the list with the start of commercial activities at the 385,7 MW Parnaíba V Thermoelectric Plant (UTE).
The four states with the most installed power in 2022, until November, were Minas Gerais, with 1.472,5 MW (1.114 MW of which in solar plants alone); Piauí, with 1.062,2 MW; Bahia, with 1.001 MW; and Rio Grande do Norte, with 796,4 MW.
October
In October, the expansion in installed power generation capacity in Brazil was increased by 868,2 MW. The wind source accounts for 57% (496,5 MW) of the observed increase, and the solar photovoltaic source for 33% (285,4 MW). Thermoelectric plants represented 8% (66,1 MW) of the month's capacity expansion and small hydroelectric plants, 2% (20,2 MW).
