A expansion in installed capacity of energy generation in Brazil was expanded by 868,2 MW in OctoberAccording lifting of ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency). The additions recorded in 2022, until the end of last month, were 5.967 MW.
The wind source accounts for 57% (496,5 MW) of the increase observed in October, and the photovoltaic solar by 33% (285,4 MW). Thermoelectric plants represented 8% (66,1 MW) of the month's capacity expansion and small hydroelectric plants, 2% (20,2 MW).
In total, 20 states in the five Brazilian regions started to have new generation projects this year. In October, Piauí achieved an expansion of more than 366 MW, closing the month with 901,2 MW – the second best result in the year, behind only Minas Gerais, with 1422,6 installed.
According to the Agency, Bahia (862,0 MW) and Rio Grande do Norte (683,1 MW) are also among the four states with the most increases in installed power in 2022.
