Photovoltaic equipment distributor Aldo Solar was acquired by a Brookfield private equity fund. The press office confirmed the information to Canal Solar on Thursday night (5). The value of the transaction was not disclosed and the negotiation should be closed by the end of this month. With the completion of the sale, Aldo Teixeira Pereira, founder of the company that bears his name, will continue as CEO of the company and will have a seat on the board.
“We have come a long way and we are very proud of what we have achieved so far. We were one of the first to believe in the solar sector in Brazil, we are pioneers in sustainability, and this transaction will help us go even further, expanding our offer to a rapidly expanding market,” said Teixeira.
The company has over 40 years of history and has been offering solutions for photovoltaic solar energy generation since 2015. There are over 20 generator models available on the website and ready for delivery. The company works with sales according to the needs of each consumer, as well as individual equipment. Among the items offered are solar panels, inverters, structures, string-boxes, batteries, LED lighting, transformers, and accessories for other purposes.
At the beginning of last month, the company reached the mark of 160 thousand solar generators sold in Brazil, which is equivalent to a generator sold every three minutes and an approximate power of 1,5 GWp.

“We believe that our long-standing presence in Brazil, our experience with investments in various industries and our global presence in the renewable energy market will bring significant benefits and synergies to Aldo’s expansion. We are excited to support the company’s management team in consolidating its growth and in the continued generation of value to society,” said Alexandre Thiollier, Managing Director of Brookfield.
