Solar energy was present at the 17th edition of NOS Alive, one of Europe's main music festivals, held between July 10th and 12th, in the city of Lisbon, Portugal. During the event, Heineken facilities — such as bars and stands — were supplied by more than 100 bifacial panels installed at strategic points.

It is estimated that more than 50% of the electricity demand of these spaces was supplied by solar energy over the three days of the festival. To ensure energy supply also at night, the installed system had four storage batteries, with capacities of 21 kWh and 14 kWh.

The surplus generated during the day was stored and used at night — ensuring the lighting and refrigeration in the brand's bars were working properly.

The initiative, the result of a partnership between EDP and Heineken, had already been implemented in 2023, when the entire operation of the brewery's Central Bar was powered exclusively by solar energy.

In 2024 and 2025, the initiative was expanded, further reinforcing the potential of small photovoltaic plants strategically applied to large-scale events. In total, more than 165 people attended this year's festival.
