From a small technology center in Macaé to a million-dollar company that employs more than 100 people. This is the trajectory of businessman Anilson Junior who, alongside his partner Augusto Frossard, exchanged computer cables for distributed generation connections.
The entrepreneur found specialized education and digital innovation as the way to transform his life and impact the renewable energy market in Brazil.
Anilson had been working in the technology sector for over 12 years, managing Shop Mega Micro, a computer reseller known for always seeking innovative products.
“We sold a bit of everything: capture cards for underwater robots, gaming computers, UPSs, security systems. We always kept a close eye on the market,” he recalled.
This constant search for new things led the businessman to create a dynamic and flexible business model, always willing to adapt to changes in the technology sector.
First contact with solar energy
It was while still in charge of the store that Anilson began to envision a new future. “Everything in the company had the name 'Shop': Shop Gamer, Shop Paper, Shop Solar. It was our identity.”
“When I installed the first solar kit in our commercial building, the result was immediate. The bill came to zero. The savings showed us the potential for something much bigger,” he said.
The decisive turning point came between 2018 and 2019, when one of the company's main suppliers, Aldo Componentes, encouraged him to get to know the photovoltaic sector. At first, Anilson was resistant.
However, when he researched the subject and installed his own system, he realized that the solar energy market was more than promising: it was transformative. From then on, he began offering photovoltaic systems to nearby customers, even without mastering the installation technique.
“In the second half of 2019, I sold eight kits in a single week to close friends. I didn’t know how to install them. I had an IT maintenance team and decided to transform that team,” he said.

Role of training in growth
It was at this moment that Anilson sought technical training and found the Canal Solar. “We started doing courses with the Canal Solar still in 2019. We sent part of the team to specialize.”
“It was the beginning of our learning in the segment. We didn’t have much knowledge, but we always sought to evolve and deliver quality,” he emphasized.
From then on, Shop Solar began a solid growth trajectory. Despite technical and operational challenges, the company began to stand out for its service and constant pursuit of excellence.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Anilson made a strategic decision: he left the IT sector for good and dedicated himself exclusively to the solar sector. “That was when we decided to officially close our previous activity and invest 100% in the photovoltaic market.”
Expansion and national recognition
Currently, Shop Solar has more than 3 thousand customers served throughout the state of Rio de Janeiro, with installations ranging from small residences to large plants of up to 3 MW.
In total, the company has more than 100 employees between headquarters, distribution center and branch in Cabo Frio, and continues to grow rapidly.
“I’m not an engineer. I’m an entrepreneur. But today we have four electrical engineers on the team and another five or six professionals in training. We created an internal training plan. This strengthens our technical delivery and ensures quality,” he emphasized.
Shop Solar has become an integrator WEG 5 stars and, in 2024, was recognized with the brand's National Highlight award. In 2025, it will compete for the title again, supported by a robust portfolio and a bold innovation strategy.
“We are confident. Our volume of projects, our execution capacity and our dedication to after-sales put us in a prominent position,” Anilson emphasized.

Sustainable solutions hub
The company's operations have expanded. In addition to distributed generation projects, the entrepreneur is leading areas such as:
- Installation of charging stations for electric vehicles – with 17 points already active and the goal of reaching 50 by the end of the year;
- Development of our own fintech – focused on financing photovoltaic systems;
- Marketing of solar subscriptions – with more than 1.200 customers and more than 100 investors;
- Consulting in the free energy market;
- Installation of substations, electrical panels, capacitor banks and line extensions;
- Working with security cameras and WEG AI technology.
- Marketing of pre- and post-sales insurance, in all commercialized and third-party systems;
- Home automation – inauguration of the WEG house, with all solutions: solar energy, automation, BESS, security cameras and vehicle charger.
“We are creating a business hub. An ecosystem of solutions that goes beyond installation. We already have a franchise plan designed. It will be an unprecedented model in the sector, with technical, commercial and financial support. We are structured for the next 10 years”, he highlighted.

Social impact and the entrepreneur's vision of the future
In addition to the economic impact, Anilson highlights the social aspect of the project. “We are very happy with the donation of solar kits to institutions such as Shalon and Life, which provides treatment for drug addicts.”
“In addition, we donate to POSCRIS (We Can Be Healthy Children), which takes children off the streets and transforms them by offering courses, sports and food in the community, and Pestallozi, which cares for children with physical and/or mental disabilities, providing support and well-being for family health,” he pointed out.
“Therefore, we generate jobs and income, promote sustainability, and bring clean energy to the entire state. And more than that: we show that it is possible to start over and win with courage, education, and hard work,” the businessman emphasized.
For him, the history of Shop Solar It is also a story of productive inclusion. “The solar sector has given me everything. It has transformed my life and today it helps to transform the lives of many people,” he concluded.
