A solar energy expected to attract R$38,9 billion in new investments in Brazil in 2024, including large plants and small and medium systems on roofs, facades and land, according to the projection of ABSOLAR (Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association).

According to the entity's assessment, solar energy it should also generate more than 281,6 thousand new jobs over the next year, spread across all regions of Brazil, in addition to providing extra revenue of more than R$11,7 billion to public coffers.

By projection, on 2024, more than 9,3 GW of installed power will be added in the country, reaching a total of more than 45 GW, would represent a growth of more than 25% over Brazil's current solar power, which today is just above 36 GW.

Of the total accumulated for the end of 2024, around 31 GW must come from GD (distributed generation), which will represent 68% of the accumulated total from the source, while more than 14 GW will be in power plants GC (centralized generation), which will represent 32% of the accumulated total, as shown in the image below:

For the President of the Board of Directors of ABSOLAR, Ronaldo Koloszuk, the solar source is a lever for the social, economic and environmental development of the country, with generation of jobs and income, attraction of investments, diversification of the electrical matrix and systemic benefits for all citizens.

“Photovoltaic technology has become increasingly popular in the country, reaching all consumer classes and causing a positive multiplier effect on society”, he commented.

Already the CEO of ABSOLAR, Rodrigo Sauaia, assesses that Brazil is on its way to becoming a major global leader in the photovoltaic sector, which is increasingly strategic in the world.

“The growth of solar energy strengthens sustainability, relieves family budgets and increases the competitiveness of Brazilian productive sectors, crucial factors for boosting the national economy and for fulfilling the environmental commitments assumed by the country”, he said.

They made a bad projection. As always, the dates are VERY wrong. The 45GW was reached, without any fanfare from the press, on 08/07/2024, with 30,32 from GD and 14,68 from GC.
