A 360-kilowatt-peak (kWp) photovoltaic installation project was the sustainable solution that Henkel, a multinational chemical and consumer products company, found to provide part of the electricity needed to power its new research and innovation center.

The unit is currently under construction in the municipality of Jundiaí, São Paulo, and is the company's first in Latin America. Comprising two structures, the plant includes one installed directly on the building's roof and the other over the parking area, in a carport format.

In addition to making the most of the available space, this configuration increases the system's efficiency and reinforces the concept of sustainability applied to the project, according to TTS Energia, which, in partnership with Athié Wohnrath, is responsible for the project.

The complex, scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2026, was designed with green building criteria and is already aiming for LEED Gold certification, one of the most recognized in the sector.

The incorporation of the solar plant into the Henkel Inspiration Center Jundiaí is one of the distinguishing features that should contribute to obtaining the seal, along with solutions such as the use of engineered wood in its structure. With the capacity to significantly reduce dependence on the conventional power grid, the solar system will also bring operational savings and predictable energy costs.

This combination, according to the TTS Energy, makes the project an example of how the integration of renewable sources can strengthen innovation initiatives without giving up environmental responsibility.

In addition to the direct impact on the complex's energy matrix, the plant reinforces the importance of adopting photovoltaic technologies in corporate projects in Brazil, in a scenario of growing demand for solutions aligned with ESG practices, projects that incorporate their own generation of clean energy become a reference and help to consolidate the transition to a low-carbon economy.

The initiative confirms a trend: more and more, large constructions in the country are betting on hybrid solar infrastructures, which combine energy efficiency, reduction of environmental impacts and new ways of occupying urban spaces.
