Innovate in technology and sustainability. This is the objective of the city of Santo André (SP), which announced that it will inaugurate this month, on Rua Padre Manoel da Nóbrega, in the Jardim neighborhood, the first solar tree with a connectivity concept in the ABC region.
The project, implemented in front of the future Serafina Corporate building, from the construction company Patriani, will allow for a series of dynamic sensing possibilities, such as climate measurements and sewer monitoring, in addition to the decentralized production of photovoltaic energy.
Furthermore, it will contribute to the monitoring and automated management of aspects of the building itself, such as water consumption or energy production and consumption. It will also be possible to recharge bicycles and electric scooters on site.

According to the city hall, the solar tree will be 10 meters high, which corresponds to a two-story building. This technology is associated with a set of panels installed on top of the building, which will provide up to 70% reduction in electricity consumption in the condominium's social area.
“Cities that have adequate legislation, value their ecosystem, incorporate new technologies and adapt to new trends and needs”, said Evandro Banzato, Secretary of Development and Employment Generation of Santo André.
“With this new solar tree, the winners are the residents and the city, which will benefit from technology, beauty and innovation. This partnership with the private sector, as well as with educational institutions, means a gain for the economic development of the city, which in addition to becoming a reference for innovation, also generates jobs and income,” he highlighted. Bruno Patriani, director of the construction company Patriani, also commented on this initiative and emphasized that the location tends to be a landmark in the city.
“Patriani is very proud to be able to implement the first solar tree in Brazil with this level of technology on the streets of Santo André. It was a successful partnership with the city hall, which together managed to bring here this super modern tool, which enhances the surroundings.”
