The solar energy sector has gained something new: Chinese manufacturer Solis has launched a 255 kW string inverter which, according to the company, is the highest power device available on the international photovoltaic market.
The inverter offers an efficiency of 99%, has 12 channels of MTTP (Maximum Power Point Tracking) and 24 string inputs, with voltage ranging from 580 to 1500 V.
According to Solis, the inverter can be used in projects at altitudes of up to 4 meters and its operating ambient temperature ranges from -25 to 60 °C. Furthermore, it is ideal for large-scale photovoltaic projects, being able to reduce the LCOE (Levelized Cost of Energy) by more than 3,5%.
The manufacturer also highlights that the inverter's DC (Direct Current) input capacity can reach 15 to 25 A per string. Furthermore, the device – which measures 1255 x 770 x 384 mm and weighs 25,1 kg – features an expandable storage interface that can support up to 125 kW of charging and discharging power, without the need to change any existing plant design.
