BRDE (Banco Regional de Desenvolvimento do Extremo Sul) announced that it contracted R$182 million in renewable energy projects, including CGHs (Hydroelectric Generating Plants), PCHs (Small Hydroelectric Plants) and photovoltaic and wind plants.
In Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and Paraná, states where BRDE operates, R$241 million had already been contracted this year for investments in the renewable sources sector.
According to the financial institution, in the previous five years, the financing volume totaled R$1,37 billion in energy efficiency programs, in a total of 650 contracts.
Currently, in Paraná alone, there are 18 projects in the contracting phase, totaling more than R$40 million, and 14 under analysis, totaling R$261 million.
Wilson Bley, vice-president and director of Operations at BRDE, highlighted that the bank's work in this area meets the Paraná government's policy of prioritizing the construction and installation of PCHs and CGHs.
