All Brazilian states now have at least 100 MW of installed solar power in the DG (distributed generation) segment, according to data updated this Wednesday (5) by ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency). Roraima was the last state to reach this mark.
In total, the country has 41,7 GW of installed capacity and more than 3,74 million solar DG systems in operation in 5.559 municipalities. Currently, only 11 cities do not yet have photovoltaic systems in operation. The number of UCs (Consumer Units)) supplied, in turn, exceeds 6,5 million.
Among the states, São Paulo leads with 5,90 GW, followed by Minas Gerais (5,14 GW) and Paraná (3,78 GW). Other notable states include Rio Grande do Sul, Mato Grosso, and Bahia, all with over 2 GW of installed capacity. In total, 14 states have already surpassed the 1 GW threshold.
The residential class is primarily responsible for this growth, with 20,7 GW of installed capacity, almost double the commercial segment.
For Geraldo Silveira, engineer responsible for CS Consulting, the presence of GD is increasingly evident in all regions of the country.
"In all our years of consulting, we've seen how DG has become increasingly popular across all of the country's federative units. Until last month, we hadn't served the Federal District—which demonstrates the true reach of this technology," the professional stated.
