Sol Agora, a fintech invested in by Canadian asset manager Brookfield, reported 34% growth in its customer base in 2025, jumping from approximately 48 to over 64 users. In the same period, first-half revenue increased 42% compared to the previous year.

According to the company, the increase is a result of the fintech's focus on offering financing solutions for the purchase and installation of batteries and solar panels, taking advantage of the good opportunities in the FIDC (Credit Rights Investment Fund) market.

Another factor behind the increase, according to Sol Agora, is its business model, which offers customers the possibility of purchasing and installing solar power plants and, with self-generation of energy, an alternative to protect themselves from constant increases in electricity bills.

According to the fintech, it receives approximately R$1,5 billion in credit requests each month. Currently, with a portfolio of R$1,8 billion, Sol Agora expects to reach R$2,4 billion by the end of this year.

Even with rising interest rates, Eduardo Solamone, IR director at Sol Agora, believes he's successfully attracted consumers through his affordable credit product, which doesn't compete with customers' financial capacity. "It replaces an existing expense—the energy bill—which makes enrollment easier and safer," he stated.

Resources for financing via FIDCs

In December of 2024, the fintech launched its third FIDC fund, with an initial volume of R$800 million, potentially reaching R$1 billion. The asset is managed by Banco Genial, and managed by Régia Capital, the asset created through a joint venture between JGP and Banco do Brasil.

The goal was to finance 40 plants to be installed in homes and small and medium-sized businesses. The company also has two other funds: the first, launched in 2023, raised R$500 million and has Itaú as its main investor, in addition to asset managers; and the second, launched in 2024, raised R$900 million and has investors such as BR Partners, BNP, IFC, among others.
