The use of photovoltaic solar energy by families, companies and governments gained an even greater boost in 2021 with the Covid-19 pandemic and the consecutive increases in Brazilian electricity bill tariffs, due to the biggest water crisis in the country's history.
The search for information and solar installations in all corners of Brazil, it helped the source to expand throughout a year full of uncertainties and increased competition between companies, with the entry of new players and big brands gaining value and increasing the number of projects demanded.
A Sunova, for example, was one of the companies that saw its business skyrocket even further in 2021, with more than 300 MW of volume in orders in the Brazilian DG (distributed generation) market.
According to Wellington Araújo, general director of the company in Brazil, the company's expectation for 2022, inclusive, is to double the volume of orders compared to this year, become one of the five largest companies in the DG sector and also begin operating in the field of large solar plants.
Other Sunova highlights
The Chinese multinational was also present at the 2021 Intersolar fair in São Paulo, with the presentation of solutions and a new portfolio of photovoltaic modules. Outside Brazil, Sunova was also highlighted, with a global shipment volume that was close to 1 GW and with the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement with the insurance company Ping An Insurance and the insurance institution Lloyd's.
