The manufacturer Sunways will present its new series of single-phase hybrid inverters at Intersolar South America 2021. According to the company, the new line is aimed at residential projects on rooftops.
The line has ten photovoltaic inverters: STH-3KTL-HSS, STH-3.6KTL-HSS, STH-3KTL-HS, STH-3.6KTL-HS, STH-4.2KTL-HS, STH-4.6KTL-HS, STH-5KTL -HS, STH-6KTL-HS, STH-7KTL-HS, STH-8KTL-HS.
These include the single-phase HSS postfix model with a single MPPT tracker and the single-phase HS postfix with two MPPT. According to the manufacturer, they all have a conversion efficiency of 97,6%.
With the launch of this new hybrid series, Sunways now has a hybrid power range from 3kW to 12kW (4-phase hybrid STH 12-XNUMXKTL-HT), leading the pack in power ranges.
“Our STH 3-8KTL-HS series hybrid inverter features a number of the most advanced technologies, making it one of the most powerful and intelligent hybrid inverters on the market,” said Kui Li, Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing at Sunways.
Also according to Sunways, its hybrid inverters have overload capacity and a wide power range and the costs of some high-power inverters are slightly lower than similar products from other German brands. This series is ready to be sold in many markets such as Europe, UK, South Africa, Australia, North America, India.
Check out the features of the equipment:
- The super wide battery voltage of 85-500V makes the connected battery storage capacity ranging from 5,12kWh to 20,48kWh and optimizes the self-sufficiency rate up to 100%;
- Seamless power transition from on-grid mode to backup mode (within 10 ms) to protect against damage from household loads when power goes out;
- Industry-leading heat dissipation technology makes the inverter operating temperature 5°C to 10°C lower than others even if no cooling fan is integrated;
- Continuous AC output power increase of 110% at backup output and on the network, allows for more power generation and more performance;
- Output power increase of 130% on the backup port in 60 seconds, allows connection of high power inductive loads to the backup port.
- Maximum PV input current of 15A allows connection of higher current PV panels and decreases system LCOE;
- Supports backup port parallel connection of up to ten units to enable this inverter suitable for commercial project;
- Fast charging/discharging of up to 30A to meet the demand for greater energy consumption and commercialization;
- Wide AC output power ranging from 3kW-8kW makes it suitable for most residential application scenarios globally;
- Quick commissioning of the inverter via App or OLED display;
- Compatible with Sunways STE series batteries and batteries from industry-leading manufacturers such as PylonTech, Wattsonic, Dyness, etc.
Investments in R&D
Suways has 28 years of German technological heritage and an R&D team with an average of ten years of experience in the photovoltaic industry. Kui Li highlights that this company structure allows the manufacturer to offer high-quality hybrid inverters that allow the use of intelligently generated solar energy.

“With more and more different types of energies and power loads connected to the grid, the grid is increasingly facing security, stability and reliability challenges. As the brain of a photovoltaic system, the hybrid inverter connects photovoltaic arrays, batteries, power loads, meter and power grid and controls power flows, which can optimize system operation and solve the problems of photovoltaic generation instability and improve the energy independence of the rate to 100% It will play an important role in the future distributed energy market,” Li concluded.
