TCL Solar, the renewable energy arm of global technology giant TCL that has been present in Brazil for 10 years, officially announced its arrival in the Brazilian market during the brand’s launch event in the country. With innovative photovoltaic solutions and a strategy focused on energy transition in Latin America, the company aims to redefine industry standards in the region.

The company's entry into the country marks a new chapter in TCL's clean energy strategy, which has more than 40 years of industrial experience. The company emphasized that it combines R&D capabilities, manufacturing excellence and a robust global supply chain to deliver high-performance products.

One of the highlights is the recent acquisition of SunPower, a global leader in Back Contact (BC) technology, with over 1.600 related patents. The incorporation of the company in 2025 further strengthened TCL Solar's operations, enabling significant advances in the efficiency and reliability of the solutions offered to the global market.

Superior efficiency and durability for extreme climates

With conversion efficiency higher than 24,8%, the modules of TCL Solar offer, according to the company, the lowest LCOE for residential, commercial and utility-scale applications. The BC Series and TOPCon Series lines were developed with a focus on the specific demands of Latin America, featuring salt spray resistance, anti-PID protection and product warranties of 15 years and linear power of up to 30 years.

“We are not just selling modules, we are driving the sustainable future of Latin America. This is the beginning of a new era for TCL Solar. We will meet all the product and service needs of Latin American customers, fostering long-lasting and sustainable partnerships,” said Frank Zhang, General Manager of TCL Solar for APAC and LATAM.

Local presence and diversified portfolio for Brazil

According to Luiz Sobreira, country manager for TCL Solar in Brazil, the company will have a complete portfolio, including half-cell modules, TOPCon and, in the future, modules with Back Contact and shingle technology. “TCL already has a strong global presence and is currently number 2 in TV sales worldwide and also in Brazil.”

“What many people still don’t know is that the company has been operating in the module production chain for a long time, being one of the largest global wafer manufacturers,” explained Rafael Chagas, Sales Manager at TCL Solar.

According to him, the manufacture of the panels began in the second half of 2024, with the proposal of applying the brand's consolidated expertise in the development of innovative solutions for the solar sector.

“Back Contact is gaining scale and already offers a more competitive cost. For centralized projects, in particular, it is a technology that delivers high efficiency and tends to be highly valued by investors,” added Diego Ribeiro, technical manager at TCL Solar.

In addition, the company offers modules with powers ranging from 600 W, aimed at the residential market, to 735 W for large projects, serving different applications such as roofs, soil and trackers.

Commitment to the long term

One of the brand’s distinguishing features, according to the executive, is the local support that has been structured since the beginning of its Brazilian operations. “Unlike many new entrants in the sector, which only come with their brand and sales from China, TCL has a sales and technical team here in Brazil. Our goal is to build a solid trajectory, with complete customer support and a long-term relationship with the Brazilian market,” he concluded.
