The solar energy franchise sector in Brazil is expected to grow by 60% this year, according to Solarprime, one of the main franchise networks in the sector in the country.
Investors in the segment are also optimistic. According to Sebrae, of the 3,1 micro and small entrepreneurs who invested in the modality last year, 60% said they intend to invest more in renewable energy.
This increase follows the growth of the distributed generation sector, which should receive approximately R$16,4 billion in investments and an increase of 3,4 GW of power, according to the ABSOLAR (Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association).
According to Raphael Brito, executive director of Solarprime, the biggest attraction of being part of a franchise network is the collective and interaction of the network as a whole, in addition to the support that is offered.
“In our franchise network, you can already count on all the know-how we have, all the support we provide and all the investment in brand marketing. In other words, once any problem or procedure occurs in any unit, it becomes known to the entire network,” says Brito.
Among the advantages offered by franchise networks are marketing and press relations services, in addition to support for pre- and post-sales operations, project implementation and also during the system approval process. These services enable the franchisee to focus on commercial performance and execution, achieving significantly greater efficiency and productivity.
For those thinking about investing in a solar energy franchise, Brito comments on how the process is carried out. “We offer training entirely aimed at allowing franchisees to learn about the business, both technically and market-wise, as well as sales strategies”, explains the businessman.
According to Brito, the initial investment, for those who wish to become a franchisee, is R$27 and the return will depend on market performance. “There is no set time to get a return on investment, as it is something that completely depends on how you commit to your operation. However, to take as an example, there are franchisees who have already obtained their returns after just 3 months of being a franchise”, explains Britto.
Guilherme Henrique Marton started as a franchisee at the beginning of April last year, and has had good results. “The experience as a franchisee has been extremely positive, far beyond what I had imagined when I entered the business. The franchisor gives us all the support, as a franchisee, we have all their support to understand more every day about the business, put together a sales strategy, understand the solar energy system and why it has been growing so much in Brazil”, comments Marton.
For those who are thinking about investing in this segment, Marton states that dedication is essential for the success of the business. “Whenever I ask about the business, I tell them that they have to go all in, they have to be full-time, because the experience is positive and adds a lot of knowledge,” says the franchisee.
