Solar module reaches power of 515,8 W and sets new benchmark in the industry

The Vertex module has passed the thorough and rigorous examination of TÜV Rheinland

Trina Solar announced that its Vertex module can reach 515,8W of power, according to the test results conducted by the independent German certification body TÜV Rheinland. Vertex has obtained the IEC 61215 PV module performance level and the IEC 61730 safety level certification. It is one of the first ultra-high power modules to be certified by internationally recognized testing institutions.

“Since Trina Solar started developing ultra-high power modules, TÜV Rheinland has participated in the discussions and shared its experience in product safety and reliability.

The Vertex module has passed TÜV Rheinland's thorough and rigorous examination and has passed achieving an industry-leading power output of 515,8 W. We congratulate Trina Solar on its achievements in leading the industry's growth and its innovative spirit,” said Chris Zou, Vice President of Solar Services at TÜV Rheinland Greater China.

According to Yin Rongfang, deputy general director and executive vice president of Trina Solar, Vertex has built an entirely new technology platform through the integration and innovation of various technologies, such as 210 mm large cells, multi-busbar, advanced, non-destructive three-piece cutting technology and high-density packaging.

“With the development and improvement of the industry chain, especially the glass supply capacity, by adding one more column of cells to the existing five-column layout design, it is possible to increase the power of the Vertex module to more than 600 W. This provides the path for the iterative development of PV modules, which will continue to drive the continuous decrease of BOS (Balance of System) and LCOE (levelized cost of energy) of photovoltaic systems,” added Rongfang.
