Recently, the Physical Infrastructure Sector carried out the necessary adjustments to install the SMF (Measuring System for Billing). Initially the change will only be in the main building of the hospital complex.
“It was necessary to install new energy meters in the three electricity inputs of the main building, which supply, respectively, the West (Block A), North/South (Block B) and East (Block C) wings. All infrastructure adjustments were carried out using our own labor. The cost of material was approximately R$10”, explains electrical engineer Gabriel Alves Ferreira Dias.
Environment
The change is part of a set of environmental sustainability measures at the hospital. In addition to saving on your electricity bill, the institution will be able to acquire the I-REC certificate (Renewable Energy Certification) with the new modality.
“We have pursued energy efficiency as one of our main goals, and this migration to the free energy market represents another important step in this direction”, emphasizes Pedro Paulo de Sousa Cardoso, head of the Physical Infrastructure Sector at HC-UFMG.
