Targeting the electric mobility market in Brazil, Weidmüller has announced that it is expanding its product portfolio with the launch of the e-Connect Wallbox vehicle charger.

The equipment, with German technology, is manufactured in Brazil and has power from 3,6 kW to 22 kW. In addition, it has interchangeable type I or type II cables and RFID authentication (radio frequency identification).

Another point highlighted by the company is that the solution has protection against residual current, suitable for Brazilian standards, and three-phase or single-phase connection, suitable for the Brazilian network.

“We are not just offering a product to suit the consumer, we are adapting the equipment to the consumer and also democratizing it. Because of this, we conducted a very thorough study to price the charger so that it is within the consumer’s budget,” said Mauro Sirtoli, Renewable Energy Manager at Weidmüller.

Timo Berger, Global Commercial Director CSO at Weidmuller, also commented on the launch of e-Connect and highlighted the potential of the electric mobility market, which is rapidly evolving with the adoption of new technologies and software. “In fact, electric mobility and solar energy must go hand in hand,” he stressed.

Weidmüller plans

In addition to the portfolio they brought to Brazil, Sirtoli stated that the company is bringing solutions that are manufactured in Germany.

“This way, we will be able to serve consumers who will charge electric vehicles in their homes, condominiums and commercial establishments. In other words, the idea is to have a very complete line”, he concluded.
