Aiming at the potential of the zero grid, off-grid and hybrid systems segment in the country, Win Energias Renováveis, a distributor of photovoltaic equipment belonging to the All Nations Group, has expanded its technology portfolio. To this end, the company invested around R$80 million this year in new photovoltaic equipment, such as zero grid solutions with technology from the manufacturer Solis with EPM (Export Power Manager).
As for hybrid models, the company offers an on-demand project development service to customers, in addition to having its own off-grid stock from August this year for companies that develop these projects with end consumers.
“In general, we can say that the advantages of these equipment models and the situations they solve and address, have benefits in common, which is to provide a technological solution for cases in which the current conventional system (on grid) cannot meet, whether for technical or regulatory reasons”, explains Raone Silva, coordinator of the technical area at Win.
“These are technologies that directly contribute to expanding the sector and reaching new profiles of customers and consumers who previously did not fit into any form of service”, he adds.
Silva also highlights that regulatory uncertainty in the photovoltaic market is one of the factors that is motivating the search for solutions that are not dependent on a political decision, as is the case with off-grid systems. “This is a trend, along with the issue of energy storage, which is a hot topic in the sector, and will certainly have a large space in the market”, he highlights.
Win currently has projects with these technologies installed in the country, especially in the zero-grid and off-grid models. Among the projects for which the company supplied the entire photovoltaic solution, including batteries, is a set of 150 autonomous system installations on a remote island located in the Costa Verde region, between Paraty and Angra dos Reis, in Rio de Janeiro. The area does not have power supply from the concessionaire. The combined power of the installations is approximately 95 kWp.
Regarding grid zero projects, Win supplied equipment for a project in a business condominium in the city of Rio de Janeiro, in Barra da Tijuca, of approximately 600 kWp.
Understand the systems and their differences
Zero grid systems are those that somehow limit and manage the injection of energy into the grid, in a self-consumption model. Off-grid systems, on the other hand, do not depend on the grid structure of the grid to operate. In other words, they are systems that are disconnected from the grid, that use batteries to store energy, or that generate energy for consumption in real time even if there is no storage, as is the case, for example, of a water pumping system, which will pump water as long as the sun shines on the modules.
Hybrid systems have a dual functionality model, operating in a similar way to an on grid system (connected to the grid), but also have the possibility of operating when there is absence or lack of electrical energy from the concessionaire's network, thus activating your system. battery, where there is storage.
