2022, a year of expansion for the photovoltaic market

Points to highlight and what deserves attention so that the sector continues to remain healthy and constantly growing

When 2022 began, we were celebrating the growth of the solar PV market over the previous year. With the approval of the Law 14.300 / 2022, The expectation was for a new year of strong expansion, which was actually proven.

We will only have the official numbers at the beginning of 2023, but we will probably close with an added power in Distributed Generation of around 7,7 GW – compared to 4,6 GW in 2021, we are talking about almost 70% growth year after year. We overcome challenges with international logistics, freight prices and exchange rate fluctuations.

Now these issues are working well and prices have returned to pre-pandemic levels. This year, module suppliers photovoltaics prepared better for the demand and we are not facing delays, nor have we seen a rush in the Chinese market to acquire large photovoltaic plants. This is good news, and a relief for the sector as a whole in Brazil.

While in 2021 we follow a maturation of professionals and companies in the sector, in 2022 we took steps backwards.

We observed an intensification of predatory competition, with companies without staff or technical support, we also saw a volume of new entrants with low modules Quality and false module power numbers, which in some cases are up to 10% lower.

APsystems hires Mariani Pereira and strengthens partnership with Ecori in Brazil

We are seeking actions to combat this practice, which disrupts the entire sector and generates distrust among the end consumer, but our experience shows that unfair companies don't last long and therefore our expectation is that the market will become more stable in 2023.

Here in Ecori Solar Energy, we also expanded from significantly in all residential sectors, commercial, agribusiness, etc.

We were present in relevant works and invested even more in the qualification of the sector, reinforcing our commitment to safety, a non-negotiable value for us, we work with the Fire Department of the Federal District and in other regions to train professionals in preventing and fighting fires with photovoltaic equipment, especially on roofs.

We also carried out dozens of training sessions for integrators throughout Brazil, launched the platform Ecori Plus and the Ecori professional certification, essential for any professional who wants to further qualify to work in our market. Bring on 2023!
