O federal government realized budget cuts in regulatory agencies. In this scenario, the ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) announced that it will have to reallocate R$1,5 million of the budget of supervision aimed at state agencies agreed. The amount will be used to maintain the functioning of the GGT (Geospatialized Transmission Management System).
A Agency took this decision to avoid stopping the system's operation of monitoring over the next six months, as a new licensing contract for the platform will be signed in August and resources will be needed.
O system monitors 102 transmission lines in all regions of Brazil, totaling 43 thousand kilometers and more than 86 thousand monitored spans, covering the large interconnections that cross the country and which are subject to fires that occur during the dry period, between July and October.
O GGT It is also essential for monitoring maintenance of right-of-way against the incidence of fires that can cause blackouts and major outages.
According to Agency, during the dry period, before the implementation of the GGT, the shutdowns due to fires increased, on average, 47% per year.
After the start of operations were realized preventive interactions together with electrical energy transmitters, aiming to improve management processes for maintenance of the safety bands of transmission lines.
Inspection actions that applied penalties were also carried out. Because of these shares, there was an average reduction of 21% per year in the trend of transmission lines monitored by GGT.
As state agencies count on budget of R$17,8 million for inspection, and even after cutting 1,5 BRL will continue to monitor.
At the beginning of June, ANEEL launched a campaign against fires, whose motto is: “Being without light is fire. Fires erase your energy,” with the aim of raising awareness among society about the risks of power grid shutdowns due to fires.
This year, the Campanha also aims to alert electricity transmission concessionaires about the importance of cleaning of range (plant suppressions) in their transmission lines before the start of the driest period of the year.
O GGT was developed in 2017 and is the result of investment by ANEEL in new technologies to improve transmission line inspection techniques throughout the country.
