Copel (Companhia Paranaense de Energia) completed the installation of photovoltaic modules at the headquarters of Acridas (Christian Social Assistance Association), in Curitiba. The institution, which supports children and adolescents in vulnerable situations, received 169 solar panels and had 341 conventional light bulbs replaced by LEDs.

According to the company, the project is estimated to generate savings of R$45 per year. “Promoting energy efficiency is one of the main commitments of the electricity sector and we follow this path with pride in being able to generate benefits for different types of consumers, from the industrial area to assistance entities such as Acridas”, stated Maximiliano Orfali, general director of Copel .

The solar plant is another project approved by Copel's PPE (Energy Efficiency Program), which applies part of its annual net operating revenue to facility improvements and energy management. In total, R$248 were invested in the NGO project.

“The program will have a direct positive impact on Acridas’ financial results, as we will be able to use the resources saved for new investments in welcoming children in vulnerable situations”, said Willian Rodrigo do Amaral, director of Social Programs at the entity.
