The solar energy moved more than R$30 billion in new investments in Brazil only in 2023, according to data published by ABSOLAR (Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association).

The numbers take into account the sum of investments made at the source both in the DG segment (distributed generation) how much GC (centralized generation) between the first week of January and June this year.

According to the association, solar energy has already been responsible for capturing more than BRL 151 billion in investments since the beginning of the source expansion.

in the segment of own generation is more than R$ 105 billion in contributions, while in big plants that value exceeds the brand of $ 46 billion in contributions.

For the President of the Board of Directors of ABSOLAR, Ronaldo Koloszuk, the growth of photovoltaic energy strengthens sustainability, eases family budgets and increases the competitiveness of Brazilian production sectors.

“Taking advantage of a clean and cheap source of energy helps in the country’s reindustrialization process, in addition to encouraging the diversification of electricity supplies, reducing pressure on water resources and the risk of further increases in the population’s electricity bills,” he said. he.

Jobs, taxes and sustainability

According to the bulletins of the ABSOLAR, Brazil also created approximately 200 jobs in the solar energy sector in 2023, accumulating more than 918 new jobs since the beginning of the source's expansion.

According to the association, the sector will reach the mark of 1 million jobs created in the country this year, distributed among all the sector's productive links and in all regions of the country.

The studies of ABSOLAR show that solar energy has also been responsible for bringing more than R$44,5 billion in tax revenue to public coffers and for preventing more than 39 million tons of CO2 from being emitted into the atmosphere.
