On March 20, the Tongwei Photovoltaic Technology Center announced a new technological milestone: after tests conducted by TÜV SÜD, the THC-G12 heterojunction module, with dimensions of 2384 x 1303 mm, achieved a maximum power of 790,8 W and a conversion efficiency of 25,46%.
The feat occurred just one month after the previous record of 783,2 W, announced on February 21. With this, the company has now set 11 consecutive power records for its heterojunction panels since 2023.
In addition to the THC-G12, two other models from the company also showed significant progress in recent tests:
- TNC-G12R (dimensions 2382 x 1134 mm): achieved a power of 682,8 W – a performance increase of 60 W compared to conventional modules of similar formats – with an efficiency of 25,28%;
- TNC-G12 (dimensions 2384 x 1303 mm): reached 778,5 W, also with a gain of around 60 W compared to the commercial-scale version, and efficiency of 25,06%.

Tongwei's Technological Advances
A Tongwei began developing its heterojunction technology in 2018. According to the company, “the first gigawatt-scale heterojunction production line in China” was built, in addition to planning the first G12 half-cell project with this technology in the sector.
Another highlight is the proprietary copper interconnection solution, considered one of the most advanced in the segment and already prepared for mass production on a gigawatt scale.
As a driver of technological innovation, the manufacturer's R&D center works on the development of next-generation technologies, including TOPCon, HJT and BC, with a focus on the efficiency and competitiveness of photovoltaic modules.
