Brazil, one of the fastest-growing distributed solar energy markets in the world, is undergoing profound regulatory and structural transformations. Among the changes is the implementation of new regulations addressing safety on the DC side of photovoltaic systems.
In this scenario, manufacturer AdvanSol presented a complete portfolio of module-level security and intelligence solutions during the latest edition of Intersolar South America.
Among the products on display by the manufacturer are the three RSD (rapid shutdown) series. According to Advansol, "R-series RSDs strictly comply with the standard that requires voltage reduction to a safe value within 30 seconds, protecting the safety of technicians and operators, and providing the foundation for module-level safety."
The MR series devices, according to the manufacturer, add real-time monitoring and remote management at the module level, providing smarter O&M (Operation and Maintenance) and faster response to failures.
Finally, Advansol highlighted that the MRO series is dedicated to improving generation efficiency at the module level, combining rapid shutdown and monitoring, offering the most complete MLPE application.
"The new APT-MC-MRO-120 product, showcased in this edition, is the most advanced optimizer on the market today, supporting input power up to 1600W (compatible with two modules of up to 800W each). Its performance is among the best in the industry, making it the ideal solution for high-power modules and complex scenarios."
AdvanSol also introduced several versions of the V2.5 control box, which can be flexibly combined with microcontrollers to implement various system functionalities. Among them, the ASP V2.5 version integrates AdvanSol's patented module-level AFCI protection technology, elevating solar plant safety to the highest level in the industry.
All V2.5 boxes use a plug-and-play design. According to the manufacturer, this feature significantly simplifies installation and enables faster delivery without compromising safety or compliance. For smart modules, AdvanSol has introduced versions with integrated monitoring and shutdown, as well as models with full optimization.
“Our focus is not on a single product, but on multiple intelligent solutions for different scenarios, covering everything from basic security requirements to advanced performance needs – offering customers a truly complete choice at the system level,” the company highlighted.
According to the company, all products displayed at Intersolar South America were certified by international standards UL1741 and UL3741.
"Furthermore, they incorporate several patented innovations, such as module-level AFCI protection, flexible configuration of microcontrollers in the same system, and a three-way junction box design for smart modules. These advancements enhance safety and intelligence, while also offering greater convenience in system integration for installers and owners," he added.
Strengthening partnerships
During the three days of the fair, AdvanSol's booth was always bustling. "Old and new industry partners gathered to discuss opportunities in light of the new regulations. Distributors, EPCs, and installers from Brazil and other Latin American countries showed great interest in AdvanSol's complete V2.5 solution," the manufacturer emphasized.
Also during the fair, AdvanSol signed strategic agreements with major Brazilian channels and EPCs. "The partnership includes cooperation in product promotion, project implementation, and after-sales services, jointly expanding the distributed solar market in South America," he added.
International recognition with the EUPD
During the fair, AdvanSol's founder was invited to the official EUPD forum stage, where he shared insights into MLPE (Module Level Power Electronics) and its application trends. AdvanSol was also awarded the EUPD Top Innovation Award, reinforcing its technological leadership and relevance in the global solar energy market.
"AdvanSol will continue investing in Brazil and South America, guided by the concept of "True MLPE & AFCI, Make a Difference", promoting the popularization of security and intelligence solutions at the module level," the company commented in a statement.
“With the accelerated growth of the distributed and low-voltage solar market in Brazil, AdvanSol will work hand-in-hand with local channels and customers to drive the industry toward a safer, more efficient and smarter future,” he added.
“A special thanks to the local representative Dsolar, for their continued support and strategic partnership in our mission to better serve customers in the Brazilian market,” he added.
