Aldo and Jinko close the world's biggest deal to distribute N-Type panels

During Intersolar Europe, companies formalized a distribution agreement corresponding to 600 MW

Distributor Aldo Solar and manufacturer Jinko signed a distribution agreement to bring the new N-type TopCon ultra-efficient photovoltaic modules from the Tiger Neo family to the Brazilian market.

The transaction was carried out during the Intersolar Europe, which is taking place in Munich, Germany. The new modules are expected to be available for pre-sale at Aldo Solar from July.

Today, Aldo Solar has a market share of approximately 30% in the DG (distributed generation) segment. At the end of last year, the two companies had already announced the signing of the largest distribution agreement for DG ever signed by Jinko Solar outside of China.

According to the companies, this new agreement makes Brazil the first market in Latin America to make this Jinko launch available and marks the signing of the largest contract in the world for the distribution of ultra-efficient N-Type photovoltaic modules from Jinko Solar's Tiger Neo family.

Under the agreement, signed by Alberto Cuter, Jinko Solar's general manager for Italy and Latin America, and Joaquim Fernandes, Aldo Solar's commercial director, 600 MW of power from the Tiger Neo family will be distributed. The contract also ensures that solar energy resellers and installers in Brazil will continue to sell the Tiger Pro family of modules.

Photovoltaic market

“The global PV market is entering a new era at an unprecedented speed. The need to address different electricity application scenarios and the urgency of governments and industries for energy transformation have driven the demand for solar energy to a new level,” said Kangping Chen, CEO of Jinko Solar.

As for Cuter, “due to its pioneering spirit and relevance in the Brazilian photovoltaic distribution market, Aldo Solar plays a fundamental role in acting as an opinion leader for the entire distributed generation chain, always following the best that exists in the solar market. Once again, we are very excited about this partnership that promises to bring the best and most innovative technology in photovoltaic modules, increasingly accessible to Brazilians.”

According to Fernandes, “from our first agreement with Jinko for a long-term partnership, we seek to bring to the market the most innovative and disruptive in solar modules. I am sure that the new line of N-type photovoltaic modules will bring a revolution to the market, with the best solution and the best cost-benefit for consumers.”

“I am sure that in the next two or three years it will be the main module technology available on the market. Therefore, I would like to thank Jinko on behalf of our resellers and installers, as well as the entire Aldo Solar team. Through this partnership we hope to spread solar energy even further and offer surprising conditions of clean and cheaper energy to all Brazilians”, concludes the director of Aldo.

Features of Jinko Solar's new Tiger Neo family

Jinko Solar's new module family adopts TOPCon N-type technology, which provides about 5% to 6% higher efficiency than mono PERC modules and about 3% to 4% more power generation.

In addition to efficiency, N-type cells also promise improvements in long-term performance, increased bifaciality factor and superior performance at high temperatures that result in more energy, a lower levelized cost of electricity and a faster return on investment.

Light-induced degradation and high-temperature light-induced degradation have been one of the major challenges for P-type (polycrystalline) products and still cause considerable levels of performance losses in PERC (monocrystalline) modules produced today.

Type N's inherently lower susceptibility to both mechanisms means less degradation and higher energy yield over the life of the product.

Advantages of Tiger Neo modules

  • Lower degradation – less than 1% in the 1st year of operation and lower linear degradation over the 30 years of warranty;
  • Lower Temperature Coefficient;
  • Greater bifaciality factor;
  • Guarantee of 87,4% generation after 30 years of operation;
  • More generation and longevity;
  • Logistics efficiency: more power per container;
  • Produced from 182mm wafers, Tiger Neo modules feature Multi-Busbar (MBB) and half-cut design to reduce internal resistance loss.
