A ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) confirmed last Tuesday (23) the holding of Transmission Auction No. 4/2025, the only one of the year, with a planned investment of R$ 5,53 billion. The approval of the notice occurred after analysis by the TCU (Federal Court of Auditors), and the event is scheduled for October 31, at the B3 headquarters, in São Paulo (SP).
In total, seven project lots will be put out to tender, involving the construction and maintenance of 1.081 km of transmission lines with a transformation capacity of 2.000 MW, as well as seven synchronous compensation projects. The projects are expected to generate approximately 13 direct and indirect jobs, with completion times ranging from 42 to 60 months.
The financial highlight of the auction is Lot 4, which provides for an investment of R$1,25 billion for works in the states of Mato Grosso and Rondônia, expanding the capacity of the Acre-Rondônia subsystem.
Lot 3 returns to the competition after adjustments to the project, motivated by the floods that hit Rio Grande do Sul in 2024. “Future operational safety was the focus of the adaptations,” highlighted the ANEEL.
Five lots originally planned in the notice were withdrawn at the request of the MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy) and transferred to the 2026 auction. The changes occurred after a recommendation from the ANEEL expiration of contracts previously signed with MEZ Energia, which failed to meet implementation deadlines.
