Biometria Consultoria e Projetos announced its involvement in obtaining one of the first environmental licenses in the country for a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), from FEPAM, in Rio Grande do Sul. The authorization enables the installation of the system in a wind power project, reinforcing the advancement of hybrid solutions in the electricity sector.

The process involved preparing all necessary environmental studies and assisting the entrepreneurs with the state agency. According to the company, the work aimed to align regulatory and strategic requirements to ensure the project's approval and compatibility with the operation of the wind farm.

"We provide technical and strategic support to the entrepreneur to enable one of the first licensed BESS projects in Brazil," Biometria highlighted.

With this approval, the project joins the initiatives that have been driving the adoption of energy storage in the country, increasing the operational safety and flexibility of the renewable energy matrix.
