Axia, the current name of Eletrobras after privatization, informed the market that Banco Clássico has increased its shareholding and now holds 5% of the company's common shares. The announcement was made by the company itself, in compliance with transparency rules applicable to significant shareholdings in publicly traded companies.

According to the statement, the increase stems from the acquisition of additional shares on the market, without any change in the company's control structure. Axia emphasized that the move is financial in nature and does not imply, at least at this time, changes in management or the strategic direction of the business.

With its capital widely dispersed since privatization, Axia's shareholder base includes various institutional investors and individuals. In this context, the increase in Banco Clássico's stake is noteworthy because it involves an investor with a direct history in the company's trajectory while it was still a state-owned company.

Profile

Banco Clássico is a Brazilian financial institution primarily focused on managing its own resources and equity holdings. Its controlling shareholder is investor José João Abdalla Filho, better known as Juca Abdalla, a prominent figure in the national financial market and frequently involved in transactions with large companies of strategic importance.

The financial institution adopts a concentrated investment strategy, focusing on publicly traded companies and holding a significant stake in their share capital. Its operations are not characterized by retail banking, but rather by medium- and long-term asset management decisions.

In addition to Axia, Banco Clássico holds stakes in other listed companies, including companies in the energy sector. PetroCompanies like Bras, Cemig, Engie Brasil, among others – infrastructure and services, areas historically associated with investor interest in strategic and large-scale assets.

Abdalla and state-owned companies

The increased stake in Axia is part of José João Abdalla Filho's broader history with state-owned or former state-owned companies. The investor has been a shareholder in the former Eletrobras for decades and has been involved, over time, in debates and corporate disputes related to the company.

The profile of Banco Clássico also points to the controlling shareholder's recurring interest in other state-owned companies or those linked to privatization and restructuring processes, reinforcing a consistent strategy of operating in assets considered central to the Brazilian economy.

In the specific case of Axia, the increase in participation to approximately 5% of the common shares reinforces the continuity of this historical relationship, now under the company's new corporate structure.

Although the move does not represent a change of control, it adds significant weight to Banco Clássico's presence among the company's shareholders, at a time when the market is closely monitoring the consolidation of governance and the positioning of investors with a history linked to the company's state-owned phase.
