A DAS Solar announced that his TOPCon 4.0 Plus solar cell reached world record de voltage de open circuit of 742 mV and 26,36% efficiency. The result was certified by NVPM (China's National PV Industry Measurement and Testing Center).
The company managed to surpass the efficiency of 26,33%, established in September 2023, and the voltage of 735 mV, achieved in December 2023. N-Type series contains bifacial modules, in 108 and 144 cell versions, covering the highest power output of 440 a 640 W and conversion efficiency of up to 22,8 %.
DAS Solar operates in the GD (distributed generation) and GC/Utility (centralized generation), with maximum power ranging from 570 W to 590 W and 610 W to 640 W.
Furthermore, the module DAS-DH144NA/DAS-DH156NA features 144 and 156 cells that produce more energy per unit area compared to traditional solar cells. The power range for DAS-DH144ND rectangular panels is 590 W to 615 W.

Other features
The incorporation of a half-cell design with double-glass encapsulation is a hallmark of the company's N-Type 4.0 series. The use of dual POE encapsulation in these boards, as per DAS, offered advantages such as zero LID (Light Induced Degradation), higher bifaciality, lower temperature coefficient and superior performance under low light conditions, meeting the diverse requirements of various application scenarios . Currently, DAS Solar's N-Type modules have been tested, approved and certified by Inmetro.
“The DAS Solar R&D team has consistently improved the open circuit voltage of TOPCon cells, going from 701 mV with TOPCon 1.0 to 742 mV with TOPCon 4.0 Plus. A perfect passivation structure in the cell sustains its ability to achieve high open circuit voltage. TOPCon technology is expected to advance towards its theoretical limit of 28,7% in the near future,” said Song Dengyuan, CTO of DAS Solar.
Liu Yong, CEO of DAS Solar, added that “innovation has never been a shortcut, it requires a realistic spirit and dedication to research and development”, highlighted the executive.
The manufacturer had an annual TOPCon module capacity of 30 GW in 2023. It is expected to establish a production capacity of 50 GW for N-Type cells and panels by the end of 2024.
As one of the leaders in N-Type technology, the company said it will continue to increase research investments, strengthen collaboration between the industry and academic community, create a technological innovation base, reduce costs and increase efficiency, improving its core competitiveness in the future.

Innovations in this sector have shown extraordinary and surprising gusto. Let us remember that not long ago the yield of solar modules fluctuated around 15%. Innovations have been contemplating the so-called intelligence of solar generation, which is the yield and quality of the energy constituted by the modules and inverters. Hybrid systems are not far behind, since there is intense research regarding batteries to improve their autonomy, recharge time and useful life. Engineer and professor. Designer in solar generation.
