Ecom Energia, one of Brazil’s leading energy traders, has announced the arrival of two new directors to strengthen its operations. Alexandre Buono Schulz will take over as director of Ecom Carbon, a unit focused on trading carbon credits, while Luis Guilherme Prates will be the commercial director of strategic partnerships and wholesale management.
Schulz is a lawyer with over 20 years of experience in the energy, infrastructure and carbon projects sectors. With an Executive MBA from IMD in Switzerland, as well as a Master's and PhD in International Law from USP, he joins Ecom to boost its operations in the carbon market, taking advantage of recent regulations in Brazil and offering solutions for companies seeking to neutralize their emissions and adopt sustainable practices.

Prates, a production engineer with a degree from PUC-RJ, has built a solid career in companies such as Allianz Seguros and Fininvest. His mission at Ecom will be to expand partnerships and develop new businesses. “The goals and expectations for this new position are focused on consolidating Ecom in the wholesale market, increasing its participation and engagement in the free energy sector,” the company highlighted in a press release.

Ecom reinforces that its strategy for this year includes expanding its presence in the energy market, boosting investments in technology and expanding its operations.
