Enel Brasil announced that it will provide around 580 pieces of equipment that will assist several cities in Rio de Janeiro, Ceará and São Paulo in the storage and transportation of vaccines against Covid-19. In total, R$3,3 million will be allocated for the acquisition and delivery of the products, which should take place from July onwards. The action is part of the Unidos Pela Vacina Movement, which aims to make it possible for all Brazilians to be immunized by September 2021.

The project, carried out in conjunction with the Women of Brazil Group, will contribute to the donation of 260 refrigeration equipment, including scientific refrigerators and refrigerators, to the city halls of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Ceará, in addition to 320 thermal boxes equipped with thermometers for the states of RJ and SP.

“Our role is to act in a coordinated manner, calling on and encouraging the business sector and institutions to join this corporate network for good. The companies' responsibility is not to acquire vaccines, but to support municipalities in meeting their needs in the vaccination process”, said Guilherme Lencastre, president of the Board of Directors of Enel Brasil.

“We can contribute by assisting city halls in the operational structure with donations of products and services that facilitate and accelerate the vaccination of the entire population and the full resumption of activities for all segments of society, leaving a legacy for municipalities and society”, he highlighted. .

The Unidos Pela Vacina Movement is still looking for other partner companies that can support some municipalities in Rio with other inputs, more refrigeration equipment, as well as support in organizing drive-thrus for vaccination.
