The bulletin of Monthly Operation Program (PMO), referring to the operating week between February 25th and March 3rd, brings positive scenarios of growth for SIN load (National Interconnected System) and in three subsystems.

According to ONS (National Electric System Operator), at the end of the first quarter of 2023, the SIN should register an increase of 0,5% (75.421 MWmed) in load.

Increased behavior is also expected for the North, 13,6% (6.501 MWmed), the Northeast, 3,7% (11.998 MWmed), and the South, 2,9% (13.477 MWmed).

The Southeast/Central-West indicates a reduction of 2,8% (43.445 MWmed). The data compares the percentage estimated for the end of March 2023 compared to the same period last year.

Northeast produced more than 9 thousand MWmed of solar and wind in January

Affluent Natural Energy

According to the ONS, the projections of Energia Natural Affluent (ENA) for March 2023 signal the maintenance of a rainfall pattern compatible with the wet period.

There is a possibility that, at the end of next month, three submarkets will register ENA greater than or equal to 100% of the Long Term Average (MLT): Southeast/Central-West (100% of MLT), North (112% of MLT) and South (110% of MLT). For the Northeast, the perspective is for ENA to be 64% of the MLT.

Stored Energy

The Stored Energy (EAR) scenarios for the 31st of the following month are above 80% in three subsystems. The Northeast has the highest level, with 86,4%, followed by the Southeast/Central-West, with 85%.

If the data is confirmed, the Operator pointed out that it will be the highest EAR for the submarket in the month of March since 2007 (87,3%). The EAR estimate for the South is 83,4%. The North subsystem is estimated to reach the end of the third month of the year at 63,6%.

The Marginal Operating Cost (CMO) has been reduced to zero for the tenth consecutive week and remains equal throughout the country.
