The number of Brazilian consumers benefiting from credits from MMGD systems (micro and mini distributed generation) surpassed the 6,5 million mark in June, according to data released this Thursday (17) by ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).
Of this total, approximately 4 million are residential consumers. In total, these users share the credits generated by 3,71 million photovoltaic systems connected to the distribution grid, which total an installed capacity of approximately 41,5 GW.
In the first half of 2025 alone, more than 806 new consumers began receiving credits on their electricity bills. Between January and June, 452 MMGD systems were installed, adding 4,6 GW to the country's DG (distributed generation) capacity.
Among the states, São Paulo led the expansion during the period, adding 576,50 MW. Next came Minas Gerais, with 413,07 MW, and Mato Grosso, with 384,33 MW.
A ANEEL highlighted that all information provided for the report was collected until 13:45 pm on July 14th. The data is updated in real time in the database Agency, based on the information provided by distributors of electrical energy.
